LIVING THE DREAM YET? Ask yourself these questions.

The biggest question that we all have to face every single day in our careers is, “Am I living the dream yet?

It’s sad to have the same old repetitive answer: NOT YET

Don’t panic! We would all have our BIG BREAK soon. Or if you’ve had yours already, SECOND BIG BREAK is coming.

If you are too young, you wonder if you have come to the right place and made the right decisions. Have I made it? Am I doing well? You ask these questions and keep on overthinking.

If you’re in your mid-40’s, you wonder if you have made the right decision to keep on doing what you have been doing for the past few years in your life. Will I be doing the same thing? Have I wasted years of my life on this? You ask these questions and keep on overthinking.

You get the point.

WE ASK QUESTIONS THEN WE OVERTHINK.

Questions you should ask yourself if you are not living the dream yet:

Questions we overthink.

In whatever stage in life we are in, we will always have questions. Questions of uncertainty, self-doubt, and life.

Don’t fret. We all have brand new days ahead. Just think of this as a wake-up call. If this hits home so hard, then it’s the perfect time to reflect on things. You have to make time for this. Be mindful right now and start digging deep.

Question #1: Am I living one day at a time?

Tough question, I know!

We all know the saying “One day at a time.” But we really don’t live one day at a time, do we?

Sadly, we tend to wish for the day to end for many different reasons: Tired, Bad Day, or “Not in the mood.” Just imagine if this is the last day that you have, and you’d want it to end. Poor you, right?

Be grateful for your day no matter how tough and ugly it gets. If the day started badly, aim for the day to end nicely. You have the power to do so anyway.

Question #2: Am I doing what I want every single day?

Well, what do you want? Do you know what you want?

A lot of people love complaining and keep on whining about the jobs that they have. But they don’t do anything about it. And worse, they’d last years complaining and whining about the same old bitter thing. That is sad.

If you are aware that you don’t like the thing that you are doing every single day, that is great. You just have to take the next step which is doing something about it. Go get a new job. Start a new career. Create something. Your call.

Question #3: What should I really be doing?

  • Some people are struggling because they do not know what they want.
  • Some do know what they want but they are not doing what they want.
  • Some are finding themselves and trying to discover what they want.

We all have different struggles, different issues, and most of all, different paths to take to become the person we dream ourselves to be. Maybe it’s time to start thinking about your life. Find what makes you happy and what makes your days worthwhile.

Question #4: What’s stopping me from achieving it?

Bet you have come up with a million different excuses. Is it money? Or time? Other responsibilities and priorities? Resources? What else?

We could blame all those things but we could also blame our own shallow mindset. The truth is we all have a choice. The moment we decide that whatever happens in our life is our responsibility, we’d be living the life of our dreams.

Question #5: Do I have a plan?

Do you want to live the dream anytime sooner? Create a plan!

What’s the use thinking about the answers to all these questions if you don’t have a plan or a next step? Planning takes time and many modifications as time goes by especially when we are talking about our lives.

Now, executing the plan is harder.

If you find yourself stuck and not progressing every now and then, then know that you are not alone in this. Ask for help. Every success story is you with an army. There is no such thing as a self-made man. Know that you are not alone.

SO, LIVING THE DREAM YET?

If not, that’s okay.

Every day is a brand new day and now is the right time to prioritize your life. This is your only life. Try to make it phenomenal.

Just like Debbie Ford said:

“To live in the light of a new day and an unimaginable and unpredictable future, you must become fully present to a deeper truth – not a truth from your head, but a truth from your heart; not a truth from your ego, but a truth from the highest source.”

Debbie Ford

Just think about it. How is it that other people get to live as happy as they can be? How come they can live their dreams? It’s not about who has the money. We can all produce money in a million different ways. So that is a lame excuse.

It’s more about mindset. Find your truth. Know your truth. Live your truth. And own it.
