Note: There should be cause for concern if the version number shown in the screenshots is lower than the installer versions actually downloaded.
Google Chrome
On the home page, click the Download Chrome button.

A popup will show, click the Accept and Install button.

You will be prompted to download an installer after that, you can save the installer in your Downloads folder.
Use the installer
Execute the ChromeSetup.exe file that was downloaded earlier.

If the User Account Control dialog shows up, click Yes.

The installer will download the necessary files to actually install Google Chrome.

Verify installation
After the installation, the Google Chrome window will automatically open.

Git
Use the installer
Execute the downloaded installer.

If the User Account Control dialog shows up, click Yes.

Click Next.

Let the destination location be in C:\Program Files\Git and click Next.

Do not change the default selected components and click Next.

Allow the installer to create a Start Menu folder and click Next.

Do not change the default editor to be used by Git and click Next.

Allow Git to be used in command-line and from 3rd party software then click Next.

Do not change the HTTPS transport backend to be used and click Next.

Do not change the default line ending conversion configuration and click Next.

Do not change the default terminal emulator for Git bash and click Next.

Do not change the configuration of extra options and click Install.

Wait for the installer to finish.

Uncheck View Release Notes and click Next to close the installer window.

Verify installation
To verify installation of Git, press Windows Key + R then type cmd to open a command prompt.

Inside the command prompt, type git –version to output the version of the installed program.

Postman
Use the installer
Execute the downloaded installer.
Wait for the installer to finish.
After installation, the Postman window will open. Close it afterwards.

XAMPP
Use the installer
Execute the downloaded installer.

If the User Account Control dialog shows up, click Yes.

If the following warning shows up, continue by clicking Ok.

Click Next to continue.

Select all components and click Next.

Set the installation folder to C:\XAMPP then click Next.

Uncheck the Learn more about Bitnami for XAMPP and click Next.

Click Next to start with the installation.

Wait for the installer to finish.

During the installation, a Windows Security Alert will show. Click Allow access to continue.

Make sure that Do you want to start the Control Panel now? is checked and click Finish.

Verify installation
For first time use, a language popup will show to select the language to be used. Click Save using the selected default (US English).

Click Start on both Apache and MySQL to start their servers.

When starting the MySQL server for the first time, a Windows Security Alert will show up. Click Allow access to continue.

The interface should look like this after starting the servers.

Open Google Chrome and go to localhost/phpmyadmin to confirm that the phpMyAdmin web program works properly.

JeBrains Rider
Use the installer
Execute the downloaded installer.

If a prompt appears asking to run the file, click on Run.
On the Welcome screen, click Next.

Choose Install Location: Accept the default path or click Browse to change it, then click Next.

On the Installation Options screen, check the following boxes for as seen in the setup:

Click Next, then click Install.

Wait for the installation progress bar to complete.

Wait for the installation progress bar to complete, then click Finish.

First-Time Startup and Configuration
Accept the User agreement by clicking Continue

If a prompt appears asking to open the App, click on Allow access.

Click Skip Import

Choose Dark and Visual Studio for the Theme

Choose Visual Studio for Keymap

Click Continue without Plugins

In the bottom left corner, click Configure and select Manage Licenses…

Select free non-commercial license (for hobbyists/learning), then log in with your credentials.

You can use your good account to login to JetBrains Rider

Once authorized, go back to JetBrains Rider
Click Start Non-Commercial Use, to activate your license

This will provide a 1 year of license which can be renewed once expired.

.NET 10.0
Execute the downloaded installer.

Click Install, grant administrative permissions if Windows prompts you.
Wait for the installer to finish.

Once installation is complete, you can see all the products installed. Click close

Session 0: Environment Checks Activity
Execute the downloaded installer.
Diagnostic Script Tool for C# (Windows)
Goal: Verify that all necessary software and applications are installed on your machines (computers).
Directions: Follow the set of instructions below.
Step 1: Download the zip file here: zuitt-diagnostic-tools-win.zip
Step 2: Unzip the file: zuitt-diagnostic-tools-win-v3.zip

Step 3: Navigate to the zuitt-diagnostic-tools-win folder. All required content should be inside this directory.

Step 4: Open your Git Bash/Terminal
Note: If Git is already installed, select “Git Bash Here.” Otherwise, choose “Open Terminal”

Step 5: You can run diagnostics for C# by passing it as an argument to the script:
./run_diagnostics.bat csharp

Note: If any applications, tools, or software are missing, install them first, then re-run the command.
Step 6: After running the diagnostic tool, a text file will be generated inside the logs folder.

Inside the .txt file

Step 7: Save the .txt file to your Google Drive and rename it using the format <LastName>-<FirstName>.
Example: Delacruz-Juan.txt

Make sure the file’s sharing settings are set to Anyone with the link can view. Then, submit the Google Drive link to your instructor on the first day of your class/session.
