Pioneer Night Class Graduation

April 28, 2017 – this day marked the graduation of our first-ever night class. Hooray! The program which started on October 2016 lasted for 6 months and was participated by young coding enthusiasts, mostly career-shifters looking into entering the IT industry.

Here are the 8 students who successfully completed the boot camp training. Congrats, everyone!

Before the graduation ceremony began, those students who haven’t yet presented their portfolio were given the chance to showcase their work.

Here’s our founder, Kato-san literally floored by one of our student’s work πŸ˜€

Finally, it was time to start the program. Tonight’s master of ceremony, Miss Debbie, introduced the first speaker to give the opening and welcome remarks.

Giving the welcome speech is Tuitt’s big boss, Tomohisa Kato (Kato-san). He believes that Filipinos have what it takes to be globally recognized and successful in the IT field which is part of the reasons why he co-founded Tuitt with another great Filipina entrepreneur, our CEO and President, Mary Shemuel Unida (Shem-san).

For the next part of the program, we invited one of our alumni from the pioneer batch to share an inspirational message to our graduates. He now works at FFUF Manila as a web developer and was the top achiever of their batch.

Edmon giving his speech to the graduates

From deciding to quit his previous job to almost missing a slot in the bootcamp to graduating first in his batch and finally landing a web developer role, Edmon sure had a lot of inspiring stories to tell our graduates and we couldn’t be any more prouder of him on how far he’s gone.

Next is the highly-anticipated presentation of certificates of completion. This is it, guys! You have worked many sleepless days and nights for this πŸ˜€

Congratulations!

We also recognized the top three performers of the class for their efforts exerted and excellence exhibited during the training. Congratulations, Gie, Erick and Chan!

Just in time to give his speech, Sir Aaron who has been one of Tuitt’s supporters since the beginning arrived.

He gave some wise words to our graduates about not giving up and continuously learning. Likewise, he presented a slide detailing what’s out there in the IT world in terms of career path and other programming languages to explore.

Thanks for sharing, Sir Aaron!

On a lighter note, we also gave special awards to some of the trainees wherein winners were chosen thru voting by the students themselves.

And the winners are…*drumroll*

  • Kindness Counts award – Anthony
  • Really Responsible award – Chan
  • Enthusiastic Learner award – Gie
  • Student Best able to Teach Others award – Erick
  • Most Likely to be Famous Someday – Chan
  • Most Likely to establish Own Startup award – Erick

To cap off the program, Shem-san gave her closing remarks and gave meaningful words of advice and gratitude to all graduates.

Ending the ceremony on a happy note

Finally, it’s time to feast! Congrats again, graduates. See you out there! Remember that Tuitt will always be here rooting for you.
